This
website has been online since 1999.
Initially, it consisted of just one page which featured the playlists of
"Radio Africa", a weekly radio programme of the same name. I hosted the
show for 5 years on radio station
3CR
in Melbourne.
By the early 2000s, the website had grown into its
current url and had expanded to include discographies of West African recording
labels and a series of reviews of "African classics" - recordings of
African music long out of print.
The website continues to expand and now features
25+ discographies, rare video and audio recordings of West African
musicians, and
links to my sound archive projects and publications.
