The Radio Africa
website has been online since 1999.
It commenced as just a single page which featured the weekly playlists of
"Radio Africa",
a radio programme that I hosted for 5 years on station
3CR
in Melbourne.
By the early 2000s, the Radio Africa website had grown into its
current url and had expanded
to include discographies of West African recording
labels and a series of reviews of "African classics" - reviews of
African music releases long out of print.
The Radio Africa website continues to expand and now features
25+ discographies,
rare video and audio recordings of African
musicians, links to my sound archive projects, and my publications.
